Here at Horizons we are all about the "get to"...not the "have to!"  We are all about being real!  What do you mean by that, you ask? Well, very simply this: we believe that living for God is a privilege and not an obligation.  Living for God is rewarding, challenging, and quite fulfilling.

We also believe at Horizons that we should have fun while living for God.  We believe that God has huge plans for every person and if we are willing, we get to be a part of those huge plans, and have fun in the process.

Our goal, at Horizons, is to facilitate life-change. We want real people to experience the real God and the plans He has for a real world!  We want to help you experience these things:

1. A real relationship with God (Discover)

2. A real relationship with friends (Relate)

3. The real plans God has for you (Live)

At Horizons, we hope you experience God in a way that is relevant to your life...right where you're at!

When you come to Horizons, we want you to know that growing in your relationship with Christ is important to us. In fact, discipleship is one of our core values and something we pray will be a defining mark of this church.

The first time you walk in the door, you will hear us say that our goal for you at Horizons is simple and threefold. Our desire for every person at Horizons is that they would discover Jesus Christ in new and ongoing ways. Second, that they would better relate to God and others through the study of His word.  And lastly that everyone would live out their lives according to the gifts and abilities God has given them.

We believe that if people can do this, in time they will become committed disciples of Christ who are helping to bring others along for the journey. For more information on our discipleship initiative check out our discipleship page.

Our desire for your children is that they would come to know Jesus loves them and can use them to impact their world in amazing ways!

Please know that we take your child's safety and well being very seriously at Horizons.  Please stop by our check-in kiosk on your way in to help us in this pursuit. Feel free to learn more on our Horizons Kids page.

Born and raised in Seymour, Indiana, I am the product of a small town.  Growing up, we were excited to be the hometown of John Mellencamp, the world famous musician who wrote "Small Town."

Growing up I attended several churches including Methodist, Baptist, Assembly of God and Non-Denominational...and the cool thing is that each one made a true impact on my life. That being the case, I believe in the Church corporately and what God can and will do through it if we dwell together in unity! Not long after recognizing the call to ministry, I attended Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas where I traveled the country as a part of ‘Living Praise’ a worship band that represented the school.

Since 2005 I have been found at Horizons Christian Assembly as Lead Pastor because this is where God directed me to be.  And He's been doing great things ever since!

About God

God is the loving Creator of all things, both seen and unseen. God is eternal and completely good, knowing all things and holding all power and majesty. God exists as the Trinity.  He is three persons, yet one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God desperately desires a relationship with us and towards this end continually invites us into a relationship of faith, friendship, learning, and service.

About The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, sent from God to live inside all who believe in Jesus Christ, teaches, comforts, and empowers us, giving each follower diverse gifts, fostering unity, interdependence, productivity, Christ-like character, and love among Christians. The empowering of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, is available for every Christian.

We believe that God speaks to us in the Bible, His inerrant word.  It is our privilege to seek to understand God's message and apply it responsibly to our lives. The Bible is our standard in all we say and do. We believe that God's unchangeable Biblical message ought to be presented in a relevant way portraying a real hope, to a real people through a real God.  It’s our desire that this message is free of religious jargon and understandable to the people of our community.

The General Council of the Assemblies of God (USA), one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the United States, was organized in 1914 by a broad coalition of ministers who desired to work together to fulfill common objectives, such as sending missionaries and providing fellowship and accountability. Formed in the midst of the emerging worldwide Pentecostal revival, the Assemblies of God quickly took root in other countries and formed indigenous national organizations. The Assemblies of God (USA) is a constituent member of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship – one of the largest Pentecostal fellowships in the world.
